2019 Will Bring New Primary Schools To Perths Growing SuburbsFebruary 7 2017
Four new primary schools will open in 2019 to meet the needs of families in Perth’s rapidly developing suburbs.
The new schools will be open for primary school students in Aveley, Forrestdale, Meadow Springs and Southern River, with a total State Government investment of $83.2 million.
“Confidence in public schools continues to grow and the Liberal National Government is responding to increasing student enrolments in growing areas of Perth with four new schools for the 2019 school year,” Education Minister Peter Collier said.
“In addition, temporary facilities will open next year for kindergarten and pre-primary students ahead of the completion of each school’s permanent buildings, so that young children can start their education in these new schools.”
“The schools will each be air-cooled and have general teaching buildings, an early childhood building, music and art/craft facilities, an administration building, library, covered assembly area and canteen, landscaped courtyards, hard courts, an oval, staffroom and parking,” Mr Collier said.
“They will also be equipped with the latest technology to support children’s education.”
Aveley North Primary
The new Aveley North primary school will be built to accommodate 540 students, providing enrolment relief to nearby Aveley Primary School and Ellen Stirling Primary School. The school will be located on the corner of Egerton Drive and Strinesdale Boulevard.
Forrestdale South West Primary
Forresdale’s new primary school will also cater for 540 students, providing enrolment relief to nearby Piara Waters Primary School and Harrisdale Primary School. The new school will be located on the corner of Aspiri Promenade and Sunray Avenue in Piara Waters.
Southern River Primary
In Perth’s south-east a new school for 540 students will be build on Marnbu Road. This new primary school will assist in easing enrolment levels at the nearby Bletchley Park Primary School.
Meadow Springs North Primary
Near Mandurah, the new Meadow Springs North school will ease enrolment pressure on Meadow Springs Primary School and Lakelands Primary School. The new school will take 430 students and be located on Pineknoll Gardens.
